Weekly Blend: July 20, 2018

The Weekly Blend is your “weekly” source covering real estate news that you just may have missed. Our hard-at-work Weekly Blend crew scours the web looking for obscure, bizarre, interesting and informative real estate (or real estate related) stories. If you have one you’d like to share please feel free to share it in our comments section or tweet about it using the hashtag #WeeklyBlend. So brew yourself a fresh cup of coffee and enjoy these stories. Maybe even share them with friends or colleagues. Happy reading!

Here are my weekly picks:

This is the first time I lived through a Weekly Blend story. A moose brought traffic to a snail’s pace in Ottawa after it ventured out onto the city’s main highway. Moose it or lose it!

This edition of the Blend is apparently brought to you by animals ending up in places they shouldn’t be. It’s unclear if this black bear was expecting the perfect porridge temperature, but it was certainly not welcome in a Labrador family’s kitchen.

Here’s the story, of a lovely abode, which could fetch upwards of $1.85 million. The iconic “Brady Bunch” home is on the market.

You better hope your buyer won’t back down when putting in an offer for Tom Petty’s former home. I bet the price for the late rock star’s mansion won’t be free fallin’ anytime soon.

The Tragically Hip fans might once again flock to Kingston, Ontario, to be a part of Canadian music history. The house used to film their hit song “Poets” is for sale for $700,000.

You had better believe the private island once owned by the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! founder would cost a pretty penny. It’s on the market for $4.3 million.

If you ever played with Lincoln Logs as a child, try to contain yourself when checking out this property for sale, dubbed the “world’s largest log cabin.”

Ahoy, matey! Arrrrrrrrr ya in the market for a pirate ship? If you’re a swashbuckler, for the same price as a one-bedroom condo in Vancouver ($550,000), you can own the Black Spirit and sail the mighty seas of False Creek.

Has everyone recovered from World Cup fever? Here’s a bit of soccer news to tide you over until 2022: Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has put his stunning mansion up for sale since he’s on the move to Italy to play for Juventus.

U.S.-based real estate company releases a “for sale” sign of the future. This modern take on the classic wooden fixture features LED lights and a QR code.

It’s a painting, it’s a picture, it’s a… TV? Check out this new 4k UHD TV designed to look more like a décor piece rather than something you watch Netflix on.
