This popular REALTORS Care® article highlighting some REALTORS® who ran, crawled, got soaked and climbed all in the name of charity was originally published on June 7, 2017. You can also raise awareness for your favourite charity by sharing your own inspiring story.
Climbing, running, crawling, getting soaked and testing your physical will might not sound like a lot of fun to you.
But, to the Agents of Bamber, it’s a walk in the park—or, obstacle course.
For the third straight year, REALTORS® from Century 21 Bamber Realty took part in the Woman2Warrior charity obstacle adventure race and came out on top in terms of fundraising dollars. Participants go through various challenges such as wall climbing, army crawling, and swinging from monkey bars along the nearly five-kilometre route.
The all-women team raised an impressive $7,400 for Easter Seals Alberta and the Children’s Hospital Aid Society. That money goes to helping children and adults living with disabilities.
“Our office is very involved with the Easter Seals,” said office administrator Laura Nish, adding the REALTORS® also donate a percentage of their commissions to the charity. “I think it’s very important for us to be role models in the community. People are looking for a REALTOR® that’s trustworthy and someone they can respect. While the REALTORS® are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, they are also doing the community some good.”
Earlier this year, Century 21 Bamber Realty received recognition from Easter Seals Alberta for being a longtime corporate sponsor.
“The organization is wonderful. They are just one you can easily get behind and they help so many people,” Nish said.
