Help Drive Progress, Apply to Join a CREA Committee

Are you looking to be a part of key decisions impacting the REALTOR® community in 2025? The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is now accepting applications for its 2025-2026 committees.

Each year, CREA invites REALTORS® and board/association staff to apply to serve on one of its volunteer board and operational committees, which act as resources to our Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on important topics, like federal affairs and technology.

They also help showcase REALTOR® value, enhance professionalism and move the industry forward by driving continued innovation and progress.

CREA’s leadership understands the importance of bringing REALTORS® with diverse backgrounds and experiences to our committee tables. We want the composition of our committees and our board to reflect the wonderful diversity of our national membership.

The application process is open to all REALTORS® in good standing with CREA as well as local/provincial board and association staff members. Applications will be accepted until Friday, December 20, 2024.

Opportunities are available for the following CREA committees. Click on the name to learn more about the role and responsibilities of each committee:

Questions about the process? Here are a few answers to our mostly frequently asked questions.

How often do committees meet?

Most committees meet in person once a year, usually (but not always) at CREA’s office in Ottawa, Ontario, and meet virtually throughout the year. Committees may also host virtual calls or webinars on occasion during the year. Committee members are reimbursed for travel expenses incurred to attend committee meetings in person, in accordance with CREA’s policies and practices.

How many committees can I apply for and serve on?

You can apply for and serve on two board committees and two operational committees.

What is the process for committee member selection?

Once the committee application period closes, the applications are reviewed and aggregated by CREA staff, who share the applications with a subcommittee of the Governance & Bylaws Committee. This subcommittee then reviews the applications and shares their recommendations with CREA’s officers, who then make a final recommendation to the Board of Directors for approval.

When will a decision be made?

The committee member appointments are approved by the Board of Directors and all applicants will receive a notification regarding the results shortly thereafter.

If you have any further questions about the committee application process, please visit our FAQ page, or contact our Member Experience Centre at support@CREA.ca or 1-888-237-7945.
