Find Us on the Road, Building Connections with the REALTOR® Community

Each year, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) attends as many industry events, conferences, Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and tradeshows as possible, in as many regions of the country as possible.

Well, we’ve hit the road (and logged on to virtual meetings) with the latest CREA news, tips, tools, and resources—each specifically designed to help you in your day-to-day business.

These events are a welcome opportunity for CREA staff and our Board of Directors to get to know you—our members.

As you know, real estate is a relationship-driven industry. Forging relationships with our members, board/association staff and industry stakeholders is how we uphold this key value. Working together, we can strengthen the profession and ensure the REALTOR® mark continues to signify a member of CREA who demonstrates professionalism, competent services, and a commitment to a strict code of ethics.

CREA Global connects with REALTORS® and real estate professionals from around the world during select in-person events and monthly webinars. They’re hitting the road again for their Great Canadian Road Trip later this year at events in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Massachusetts.

Where we’ve been

We’ve been busy in the first half of 2024 attending numerous conferences and tradeshows. You may have seen a few of our Instagram Reels highlighting events we attended, like the ones in Ottawa, New Brunswick and Toronto. Be sure to follow us to see glimpses from future events, as well as other Canadian real estate content.

We’ve spoken to members and the REALTOR® association community at more than 70 speaking engagements, from Prince George, British Columbia to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, with more on the way.

CREA’s Board of Directors focuses on providing updates on the latest CREA news. Meanwhile, CREA staff provide insights and training on tech tools (like CREA WEBForms®), legal issues (like FINTRAC and the National Do Not Call List), CREA policies (like REALTOR® Cooperation), housing market updates and more.

In addition to attending Canadian events, CREA’s Board of Directors also represented the Canadian REALTOR® community in Washington, D.C. last May. CREA Chair James Mabey and Chair-Elect Valérie Paquin provided an update to the National Association of REALTORS® on the future of REALTOR.ca and CREA’s new social purpose statement, among other topics.

Since beginning her role in January, CREA’s CEO, Janice Myers, has been engaged in a listening tour with boards and associations across Canada and has already spoken at nearly a dozen events across Canada. She’s dedicated to learning more about the common values, challenges, and opportunities we as a community share from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

Face-to-face (or screen-to-screen) interactions provide the best opportunity for a two-way flow of information. We’re committed to keeping our members in the know, but it’s equally as important we hear from you about the issues impacting your business.
