While some people associate the holidays with a shopping season that starts immediately after Halloween, and new music from celebrities looking to capitalize on another Christmas album, it’s actually about families coming together to celebrate in a place called home.
The holiday season is one of the few times of the year where our appreciation for the roof over our heads, the food on our plates and the health and wellness of our family and friends is top of mind. It’s also a time when we think about those less fortunate and how we can help.
Using the support of a few holiday helpers and a partnership with Habitat for Humanity, we designed a Gingerbread Dream Home to highlight the philanthropic work REALTORS® do in their communities. In addition, we hope to inspire all Canadians to donate in support of local building projects.
Canadians can experience and become a “virtual owner” of the festively-designed imaginary home by donating towards a local Habitat for Humanity project. One person will receive a miniature replica of the gingerbread house.
