Every year, politically engaged REALTORS® from across Canada converge on Parliament Hill to network, develop advocacy skills and show the full force of our lobbying efforts during Political Action Committee (PAC) Days.
The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA)’s 34th annual PAC Days will be held in the nation’s capital October 6-8. With the federal election scheduled for October 21, the timing couldn’t be better: no election in recent memory has been this unpredictable.
Novice politicos and veteran PAC Representatives alike will have the opportunity to un-PAC the election with a distinguished group of journalists, pollsters and political strategists during this year’s event. Participants will also have the opportunity to prepare for future advocacy on behalf of REALTORS®, homeowners and prospective home buyers with the guidance of former parliamentarians. Additionally, REALTORS® will have an important opportunity to network with fellow PAC Reps and CREA staff, strengthening our advocacy chain.
Let’s take a look at what you can expect during PAC Days 2019.
Engaging and informative speakers
With three days of exciting speakers, you are sure to get a well-rounded perspective of what’s to come during this year’s election. PAC Days 2019 will feature a top-rated group of media experts, pundits and political strategists to discuss what’s gone right, what’s gone wrong, who’s up, who’s down and what to expect on election day and beyond.
PAC Days 2019 won’t just include panels with media professionals, social media gurus, pollsters and political consultants, there will be two keynote speakers as well. PAC Reps will hear from urban planner extraordinaire and former Toronto mayoral candidate, Jennifer Keesmaat, as well as political commentator and former speechwriter for U.S. President George W. Bush, David Frum.
Advocacy information and training
CREA and the PAC network work hard to promote legislation and regulations that benefit homeowners and allow REALTORS® to better serve their clients.
During the conference, PAC Reps will learn about CREA’s government relations activities from the past year and what they can expect to see after the election.
PAC Reps will also demonstrate their advocacy skills and learn tips on how to conduct an effective Member of Parliament (MP) meeting with former Parliamentarians.
