Peak performance: Not just for athletes

We hear a lot about peak performance with respect to athletes, but have you ever considered what peak performance means to a REALTOR® or a real estate Board or Association? There are many definitions for peak performance, but the one that resonates with me is: “Approaching or constituting the maximum – i.e. working at peak efficiency.” To operate at peak efficiency, goals must be established, tactical plans developed, required knowledge attained, and resources utilized efficiently. CREA’s Association Executives Council (AEC) hosts an annual conference to promote peak performance among real estate Association executives (AEs) and their organizations.

The AEC is comprised of real estate AEs from across Canada. Founded in 1960, the Council is a collaborative network that ensures the highest standards among AEs and the organizations they administer. Membership in the AEC ensures executives stay current on industry and Association management trends and best practices to assist their organizations to continue to provide value to members – REALTORS®.

AEs will converge in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia (aka KTown) from June 3 to 6 this year for their annual conference. The AEC Seminar continues to be the premiere professional development and networking event for real estate Association executives from across Canada. It’s an opportunity to discuss emerging real estate issues and trends and their impact on Association management.

This year’s theme, “Get Your Change On,” will focus on equipping AEs as change leaders; to challenge them to consider new business models and ways of doing business. The two and half day event will feature one-on-one training opportunities, interactive finance, technology, and governance workshops, and main plenaries on the changing landscape of organized real estate.

Just as REALTORS® need to keep abreast of industry changes and emerging technologies, so must Association executives – the AEC Seminar is the place for them to do just that! We look forward to welcoming all AEs as they discover new strategies to continue to deliver value to members and to ensuring REALTORS® stay central to the real estate transaction.
