4 useful resolutions for Commercial REALTORS® in 2016

Back in September, over 100 Commercial REALTORS® flocked to Winnipeg to learn about the latest trends, tools and opportunities at the 2015 Canadian Commercial Conference.

With a new year now underway, we want to help you grab the proverbial bull by its horns and make the most of 2016. Here are 4 useful resolutions and how we can help you accomplish them:

  1. Find new opportunities to collaborate.

When Boards, Associations and REALTORS® work together, everyone benefits. Two new innovations from the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) and the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) are now available to all REALTORS®:

  • Email Broadcast System

The REBGV developed the email broadcast system to allow Commercial REALTORS® to share their “haves” and “wants.” It also serves as a community forum allowing REALTORS® to network with other subscribers. The email broadcast system is currently available to Commercial REALTORS® from the REBGV and TREB and will soon be available to members of the Calgary and Edmonton real estate boards.

  • Commercial Financial Models and Calculators

TREB’s commercial calculators and financial models help Commercial REALTORS® calculate return on investment, retail and site selection analysis, land development revenue, land transfer tax, and property investment and lease analysis. Check them out at REALTORLink.ca/commercial.

  1. Leverage the power of REALTOR.ca.

Just in time for the 2015 Canadian Commercial Conference, commercial listings found a new home on REALTOR.ca. This means commercial listings will now leverage the power of REALTOR.ca along with its substantial reach and lead-generation potential. For real estate investors, access to all listing types on one site will offer a more user-friendly experience and greatly enhanced visibility for commercial searches not previously available.

  1. Stay in-the-know about industry trends.

With the 2014 Consumer Insights Report and growing interest for online commercial real estate information, we put together an 11-page report featuring key insights into REALTOR.ca and a look at emerging trends within Canadian commercial real estate … also known as the Commercial Insights Report.

Find the latest report, our quarterly economic Commercial Snapshots and more at REALTORLink.ca/Commercial.

  1. Invest in professional development.

With over 8,000 attendees, REALTOR® QUEST is Canada’s largest REALTOR® tradeshow and conference. And this year, we’re excited that the 2016 Canadian Commercial Forum will be hosted alongside TREB at the event on May 4 and 5, 2016. Featuring an impressive lineup of speakers and panelists covering topics such as future technology and trends impacting commercial real estate to three things Commercial REALTORS® can do to gain clients. We hope to see you there!
